This marble is created by the combination of both Nero Marquina Marble, which is a type of black marble, with Statuario Marble, which is a type of white marble. Therefore, the combination has a chequerboard look which explains the name of the marble. While the black part of the marble has white veining on its surface, the white part has dark veining that creates a very appealing look for the ones who love contrast look. It is mostly used for interior floor applications because of the chequerboard look that it reflects. It is also preferred for floorings of grand hotel entrances and halls. It can be also used for pool capping, stair covering, and many other design projects. It is possible to use it for wide spaces as it is possible for narrow spaces. While the Back Marquina marble brings an ostentatious look, the Statuario marble softens the way it shows itself with its beautiful white color.
