Since it is famous and well known with its spectacular colour of white, originally its name means crystalline rock, shining stone. It is also used for many special designs and art purposes. For example, in the making of Hagia Sophia, Marmara white marble was used for a great amount. Another example can be the sculpture of Herculean Sarcophagus of Genzano, which is currently on display in the British Museum. It has a unique parallel veining on its pure white surface that makes it even more eye- catching in any place. Since its veins are strong and eyeful, it makes any interior and exterior projects more spectacular, and attention gatherer.
