Matching existing Antalya limestone honed pool coping — precisely
When a client needed additional pool coping to match their original Antalya limestone exactly, we sourced, sampled, and delivered stone that was indistinguishable from what was already laid. This is what we do.

THE CHALLENGE
The existing stone was already laid. The match had to be seamless.
The client had a pool surround with Antalya limestone honed coping already in place. They needed to extend the area — which meant sourcing additional stone that would sit side by side with the original, in the same light, with the same tonal variation and surface finish.
Natural stone matching is one of the most demanding tasks in the stone industry. Antalya limestone, like all natural stone, varies in colour, veining, and density from quarry batch to quarry batch — sometimes from slab to slab. A close-but-not-right match is immediately visible once laid, especially in an outdoor setting where the stone is seen in direct sunlight.
The client’s requirement was simple but exacting: the new stone had to be indistinguishable from the existing.
OUR APPROACH
From client photograph to factory floor — our matching process
We are specialists in natural stone matching. Our process has been refined over years of working with clients who need existing floors, walls, and pool surrounds extended or restored — and it is built around one principle: the client approves the match before anything is ordered.
01
Client sends a photo and description
We started with photographs of the existing coping in situ, taken in natural daylight from multiple angles. This gives us the tone, veining intensity, surface reflectance, and edge profile to work from.
02
We select candidate samples from stock
Our team reviewed our current Antalya limestone holdings and selected the closest candidates — three samples representing the most likely tonal range — and sent these to the client for comparison against their existing stone.
03
Factory visit to our Antalya quarry partner
The initial stock samples were close but not precise enough. We travelled to our partner quarry in Antalya, Turkey to assess the current production batches directly — reviewing slabs for colour consistency, veining pattern, and honed surface quality until we identified the right match.
04
Final samples sent to client for sign-off
We sent honed samples cut from the selected batch. The client confirmed the match against their existing coping in daylight conditions — checking both the dry and wet appearance, as pool coping is seen in both states.
05
Order placed, stone cut and delivered
With match confirmed, we placed the production order — cut to the client’s specified dimensions, honed to the same surface finish as the original, and delivered on schedule.
